Commercialization Development Specialist - ARPA-H

SoKat is seeking a Commercialization Development Specialist for ARPA-H. Please Note: This position is contingent upon contract award. 

 

The Advanced Research Projects Agency for Health (ARPA-H) is a new agency within the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) focused on accelerating breakthroughs in health. ARPA-H operates with a high degree of flexibility and agility to support high-risk, high-reward research programs that have the potential to transform human health. The Business Financial Manager (BFM) plays a critical role in supporting ARPA-H's mission by providing comprehensive financial and administrative support to Program Managers (PMs) and the broader agency. In this role, you will be responsible for building and managing program budgets and justifications, financial tracking and analysis, supporting solicitation and acquisition materials, and overall tracking and coordination of funding forecasts-to-actuals.

Minimum Qualifications:

​

  • Biochemistry  or related scientific  field, Ph.D.

  • 7 years of experience

  • Experience including a combination of technology/research and business required.

  • Experience in startup/entrepreneurial business and in areas such as market research, financial analysis, product development and/or supply chain/manufacturing is preferred.

  • Strong technical background in engineering, technology development or scientific research is highly preferred.

  • U.S. Citizen/Permanent Resident and able to obtain a Public Trust Clearance

Responsibilities:

 

  • In this role, you will play a vital part in transforming ARPA-H's cutting-edge biomedical program solutions and discoveries into successful commercial products and ventures

  • You will work closely with researchers, engineers, and business leaders to navigate the commercialization process, ensuring a smooth transition from the lab to the marketplace

  • Evaluate the commercial potential of new technologies and intellectual property

  • Conduct market research to identify target markets and customer needs

  • Develop comprehensive commercialization plans, including market entry strategies, pricing models, and revenue projections

  • Secure funding and investment opportunities for promising technologies

  • Manage and negotiate licensing agreements and partnerships

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (research, engineering, marketing, sales) to ensure successful commercialization

  • Track and analyze the success of commercialization efforts and recommend improvements

  • Stay up-to-date on industry trends and emerging technologies
